Adventure Day 40 - 4/2/09

[Read Colossians 3:1-17] This passage, our Adventure text for today, shines light on what personal revival actually looks like. As you read these verses, ask yourself...

• What earthly things am I in danger of allowing my mind to be set on, rather than Christ? (see vv. 1&2)
• What are things in my life that need to be "put to death"? ... any of those in the list found in vv. 5-11 that apply most to me?
• Beginning in v. 12, the new Christlike wardrobe we are to "put on" is featured... which of the virtues listed most characterize my life? .... which ones might the Lord want me to "try on" more often?
• Is my life characterized by thanksgiving? (see v. 17)

I like the way the New Living Translation (NLT) renders v. 17 of this passage - may it be true of each of us today...."Whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus..."
